On-Water Experiences

Knee Deep offers full- and half-day on-water packages.  For those who have never fished before or who have limited experience, our focus will be on casting and fishing fundamentals like reading the water and interpreting the elements while enjoying time outdoors. More advanced anglers will benefit from putting the pieces together on the water. At the end of the day the goal is to have fun, catch fish, and make everyone feel confident enough to come back and do it again.

               Full-day Outing

A full day of fishing  includes 6 hours of guided fly fishing and instruction, streamside lunch, with flies and tippet provided.

               Half-day Outing

A shorter “half day” outing includes 4 hours of guided fly fishing and instruction with flies and tippet provided.

Fly Casting and Fishing Lessons

Whether you’re brushing up for the spring season, embarking on the trip of a lifetime or preparing to hit the water for the first time, Knee Deep can help you learn—and love—fly casting.

We believe that mastering the art of delivering a nearly weightless fly to a fish is one of the most satisfying accomplishments an angler can achieve. A helping hand getting started ensures a beter understanding of the mechanics of casting a fly rod and makes your time on the water more valuable. Dry-land instruction is a great way to learn better and more efficient casting without the pressure of having feeding fish in front of you.

Individual, group and corporate instruction available.

Fly Tying

Don’t spend your time away from the water just dreaming of fishing. Fill your box with flies you tied!

Part science and part art, learning to tie your own flies is a rewarding way to spend your non-fishing hours. With decades of fly tying experience, Knee Deep Fly Fishing’s instructors can help you wrangle all types of fur and feathers onto a hook. We’ll also teach you what flies to tie for the coming seasons and how to select the right fly when you hit the water.

Casting and fly tying instruction rates are $60 per hour and generally 1 to 2 hour sessions. All casting or tying instruction would be tailored to the angler’s needs. Beginner groups are always welcome and all instruction is focused on having fun and learning.
